Pool & Hot Tub

The pool & hot tub are open daily from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm. Please note, we offer daily fitness times for our pool which are adult-only (18+). These times are 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm & 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm. All other swim times are considered Family Time, which is open to everyone. The pool & hot tub are located on the lobby level in Tower A.

Fitness Centre

The fitness centre is open 24 hours. Using their room key, guests can access our fitness centre through our pool change rooms and up the staircase or from the Mezzanine level in Tower A.

Rooftop Gardens

For a peaceful pause, unwind atop our picturesque rooftop garden and take in stunning views of downtown Victoria and the nearby ocean.

Complimentary Bikes

Our fleet of bicycles are primarily full-sized, and we now have a limited supply of kid-sized bikes! For specific-sized bikes, our team can recommend a local bicycle rental company nearby.

Wi-Fi & Television Assistance Expand

Wi-Fi Connection & Chromecast
To access complimentary Wi-Fi during your stay, please join the wireless network “Parkside” to view the log-in page. Enter your room number including the tower (A or B) and the last name of the registered guest to connect. Once connected to the Wi-Fi, a casting symbol will appear on your device streaming apps (Netflix, Prime Video, Crave etc.) Change the input on the TV to HDMI 2 or HDMI 3 using the remote to start casting. Should you need assistance with your wireless internet, please contact Guest Services.

Housekeeping Expand

Housekeeping
Daily housekeeping service is available for the duration of your stay unless you have booked one of our room rates that automatically opt out of service. Our housekeeping team will refresh your room between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm.

Hotel Policies Expand

Smoking Policy
Smoking of all types (vaping, cannabis, tobacco etc.) is prohibited at The Parkside Hotel & Spa. Smoking restrictions are in effect throughout the building and within 7.5 metres of entries, operable windows, air intakes, guest rooms and guest room balconies. If guests are found to be smoking in these areas a $300 deep cleaning charge will be applied to the final bill.
Pet Policy
We accept pets in our pet designated suites. Please inquire at the Guest Services desk or dial '0', for information on our pet policy and pet fees. If traces of a pet are found occupying a non-pet friendly suite, a $300 deep cleaning charge will be applied to the final bill.
Quiet Time
In consideration of all hotel guests, we ask that you respect our quiet time of 11:00 p.m. Failure to do so could result in additional fees and/or eviction. Guest suites that receive noise complaints from neighbouring suites may be held financially liable for their actions. Any guests who are not registered to the suite must leave the property at 11:00 p.m.

Hotel Safety Expand

This section is not meant to be all-inclusive, but rather to remind guests of some of the areas of caution and safety procedures expected of suite occupants and guests. 

Bathtubs and showers may be slippery when wet and soap residues may add to such conditions. At all times, caution should be used in maintaining balance when getting in and out of tubs and showers. 

Clothes dryers have lint traps on the bottom right-hand side of the machine. Lint traps should be removed after each use and cleaned; otherwise, fires can result from lint buildup in a dryer. 

Fireplace glass can be extremely hot. Children should be advised of the danger and not be permitted to play near them. Care must be taken around stove tops and other heated equipment. 

Privacy Locks
For addtional security while in your guest suite, we recommend that you utilize the privacy lock on the door.
Keys
Safeguard your keys at all times. Do not leave your keys in your room or unattended elsewhere throughout the hotel. We ask that you do not write your room number on your key. If your key is lost, please visit Guest Services for a new, re-coded key with proper identification.
Safe Deposit Vaults
For your protection and peace of mind, we suggest that all valuables be stored in the safety of your guest room safe. The hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss of or damage to guest property unless it is deposited in the Guest Services Desk safe. There is no charge for this service.
Pool & Hot Tub
Children under 16 years old wishing to use the swimming pool or hot tub must be supervised by an adult. Registered guests/occupants are responsible for ensuring that children under 16 do not use the pool or hot tub unsupervised. Diving in the pool is prohibited. When wet, pool decks and other surfaces may become slippery, please be cautious. Caution should be exercised when walking in all pool areas, and adults supervising children are responsible for enforcing a "no running" rule.
Fitness Centre
In general, children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the fitness centre. Children aged 12-16 are only permitted to use the fitness centre if they are under direct adult supervision. An adult may only supervise one child at a time if they are also exercising. Adults are responsible for demonstrating the safe use of the machinery and equipment to children. If the adult is unaware of safe methods of use, they may not supervise children's use of machinery and equipment. Individuals who are impaired by alcohol or drugs may not use the pool, hot tub or fitness centre. Extreme care should be taken at all times when impaired by alcohol or drugs. Impaired individuals assume all responsibility and risk for any injury to themselves or others.

Fire Safety Information & Procedures Expand

If you Discover a Fire
ACTIVATE a fire pull station.  EVACUATE via the nearest safe exit.  DO NOT use the elevator.  CLOSE doors behind you.  PROCEED to the main entrance (outside) & report to the Fire Department. 
If you Hear a Fire Alarm & Smoke or Fire is Present
Evacuate immediately to the closest exit as outline on the Fire Safety Instructions posted beside each elevator. If you must use an escape route where there is smoke, stay as low as possible. Crawling lets you breathe the cleaner air near the floor as you move toward the exit. Cleaner air will be 30-60cm above the floor. Before you open a closed door, feel the door handle with the back of your hand. If it is hot, leave it closed and use an alternative escape route. If it feels normal, brace your body against the door and open it a crack - be prepared to slam it shut if heat or smoke starts to rush in. If all exits are blocked by fire or smoke, enter a room preferably with an exterior window and seal the cracks in the door with wet towels or clothes to prevent smoke entering the room. Put a wet cloth over your mouth. Dial 9+911 to report your location and place a signal in the window to call attention to your location. (For example, hang a bed sheet or towel out the window). Stay low to the floor.
If Area is Clear
Follow overhead instructions. EVACUATE calmly when instructed via the nearest safe exit. DO NOT use the elevator. DO NOT run. While exiting, close all doors behind you and leave all personal belongings. Proceed along corridors and through exits in a quiet and orderly manner. ASSEMBLE clear of the building at the ASSEMBLY POINT across Humboldt Street on St. Ann's Academy lawn - away from arriving fire equipment. DO NOT re-enter building until cleared by the fire department.
Evacuation Assistance
We try to indicate all persons in need of assistance on our guest registrar. If you use a wheelchair or have a hearing or sight impairment and will need assistance in an emergency, please inform our Guest Services team so they can be aware of your location and be better prepared.
Evacuation Meeting Location
During evacuations, occupants leaving the building should move to the designated ASSEMBLY POINT across Humboldt Street - on the lawn of St. Ann's Academy. All occupants must stay in these locations to prevent blocking the arriving fire trucks. DO NOT return to the building until the fire department advises it is safe to do so.
Evacuation Meeting Location
Occupant Fire Preparedness All occupants should know the following fire preparedness steps:
1. Know the location of two exits closest to your suite. Count the number of doors between you and each of those exits in case you must escape through a darkened, smoke-filled corridor where you can't read the names on the doors. 2. Learn where the nearest fire alarm is located and how to activate it.
Portable Fire Extinguishers
Portable Fire extinguishers are useful only if you know how to use them, if they are right for the type of fire you are fighting, and if the fire is discovered immediately. You should not attempt to fight even a small fire until people have been evacuated from the area and the fire department has been called. NEVER attempt to fight a fire if any of the following are true: 1. You are uncertain about how to use the fire extinguisher. 2. The fire is spreading beyond the immediate area where it started. 3. The fire could block your escape route. 4. You are alone.
How to use a Multi-Purpose Dry Chemical Type Fire Extinguisher
Remember the word PASS. PULL the pin. AIM low. Point the extinguisher nozzle at the base of the fire. SQUEEZE the handle. This releases the extinguishing agent. SWEEP from side to side at the base of the fire until it is out.
If you are unable to extinguish the fire quickly, evacuate the area immediately and REPORT to the fire department officer. (Your report may be invaluable.)

In Case of Earthquake Expand

When an earthquake strikes - Don't Panic!

Stay calm and lend a hand to others in need, if safe to do so. 

During an earthquake
Take cover underneath a table or croush in either an archway or inside a corner. Do not use the elevator. PROTECT YOUR HEAD AND NECK - Cover the side of your head with your elbows and clasps your hands behind your neck. Stay away from windows and objects that could fall on you. Stay where you are - DO NOT RUN OUTSIDE; falling debris may cause injury. IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS, get into an open area away from trees, buildings, wall and power lines. DO NOT enter the building.
After an Earthquake - Aftershocks
If you are still in the building: Be prepared for aftershocks. Give first aid to injured occupants. DO NOT MOVE VICTIMS UNLESS THEY ARE IN IMMEDIATE DANGER. EVACUATE as soon as possible.
Evacuation
Proceed to your predetermined exit or alternate exit if necessary. Shut all doors as you leave. Assist others with disabilities. Proceed quietly and orderly. DO NOT USE ELEVATORS. DO NOT OPEN DOOR if hot or if smoke is present. Once outside, assemble at designated EVACUATION MEETING LOCATION and stay there.
