Our Pet Policy

We Welcome You and Your “Best Friend”

Pets are absolutely members of the family. At The Parkside Hotel & Spa, we understand that traveling with a pet can be a great way for you to bond with your four-legged friend. So we’re happy to welcome you and your pet when staying with us.

If you plan to bring a pet when you stay with us, here’s an overview of what you’ll need to know in order to make your visit to our pet friendly hotel in Victoria BC a happy and comfortable one.

Designated Pet Suites

While we’re happy to welcome pets, we have a limited number of pet-friendly suites available. Therefore, it is essential to make your reservation directly with The Parkside Hotel & Spa if you plan to travel with a companion animal. Please reach out to us directly so a member of our team can properly accommodate you.

Pet Fee

Please be advised that a non-refundable pet fee of $50.00 per stay, per seven nights will be charged to your payment method prior to your departure. This is to ensure that any additional cleaning that may be required is covered in preparation for the next guest to assume occupancy of the suite.

For the safety and comfort of you, your pet and our team members, our housekeeping staff will not enter the suite unless your pet is crated or you are out of the room with your pet. However, guests may not decline cleaning services for more than three days and must make the arrangements to either safely crate their pet or vacate the suite in order for our housekeeping team to properly access and service the suite.

Special COVID-19 Note: Housekeeping services are limited due to The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s property-wide COVID-19 response and as per restrictions from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control. If any additional amenities, cleaning or service are required, we will happily work with you to determine an agreeable time. If you are staying with us long-term, weekly housekeeping visits are available with further considerations that our Guest Services team will communicate with you.

Guide/Service Dogs

Certified guide dogs are always welcome and are exempt from pet-fee charges.

Therapy/Emotional Support Animals

As per local ordinances in the province of British Columbia, therapy and emotional support animals, including dogs, are not eligible for certification. This means that therapy and emotional support animals do not have the same access rights as certified guide and service dogs. Emotional support animals are still absolutely welcome in our pet-friendly suites. However, the pet cleaning fee is still applicable.

(Please Note: The Guide Dog and Services Dog Act makes it an offense to represent a dog as belonging to a guide or service dog team when it does not. A person convicted of the offense faces a fine of up to $3,000.)

Pet-Friendly Places to Go in Victoria

Restaurants: as per the Food Safety Regulation of the B.C. Public Health Act: “an operator of food premises must not permit live animals to be on the premises.” The only exceptions are certified guide/service dogs and aquarium fish. However, many of Victoria’s restaurants do allow animals in outdoor and patio seating areas. Among them:
