The Parkside & Rainbow Kitchen: Festive Bricks of Giving
Continuing The Parkside Hotel & Spa’s holiday tradition of bringing the community together, the hotel is once again partnering with Rainbow Kitchen to share Festive Bricks of Giving, a free holiday exhibition running from November 15 to December 28, 2025, in The Parkside’s atrium. This year’s celebration introduces a creative new twist, featuring impressive LEGO displays built by local artists, families, and fans of all ages. This complimentary event is open daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with donations very much appreciated.
On December 6th, join us in the atrium with a special appearance from "the big guy", Santa himself! Enjoy a free photo while enjoying the exhibits and stay and become a kid at heart again with various brick building stations. Photos will take place from 9:30am-12:30pm on a first come, first serve basis.
Every dollar raised directly supports Rainbow Kitchen's School Meal Program with a mission to combat food insecurity in Greater Victoria schools. The organization sources, creates, and distributes over 250,000 meals annually, providing more than 6,000 meals monthly to children across the school system.
Keepsake Lego ornaments will also be available at guest services for a suggested tap donation. Convenient tap-to-donate stations are located throughout the experience to help the giving spirit of the season to directly support Rainbow Kitchen's School Meal programs.
An organization, event, product or service is successfully Carbon Neutral when it can claim net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This means all significant GHG emissions produced by the business, event, product or service are balanced out by removing or preventing an equivalent amount of emissions from entering the atmosphere.
5% of all global emissions are from the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
The Parkside Hotel & Spa relies on the selling the pristine, natural environment, fresh air, and clean water of Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island as a whole.
It is important across the entire sector that we work towards reducing our carbon footprint, to ensure we have a vibrant tourism and hospitality industry well into the future.
A carbon offset is a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction that is used to counterbalance, or offset, a GHG emission. They are sometimes also referred to as carbon credits, VERs, or CERs.
A carbon offset occurs when an individual or organization emits a given amount of GHG emissions but invests in measures that remove the equivalent volume of GHG emissions from the atmosphere or prevent the emissions from taking place at all. Carbon offsets are a financial instrument that represents this reduction (counterbalance or offset) in GHG emissions.
At The Parkside Hotel & Spa, we take sustainability seriously; in fact, we are a carbon-neutral and Five Green Key rated hotel. Our Climate Contribution program consists of a small fee of $1.50 per night that goes towards three amazing, forward-thinking initiatives with Offsetters. We encourage our guests to read about these amazing Offsetters initiatives that we support here.
This fee is optional and should you choose to "opt out", please inform us at check-in.
