Where to Find the Best Pizza in Victoria, BC
If there’s one thing that absolutely everyone agrees on, it’s that pizza is downright delicious. Sure, maybe we bicker over toppings a little sometimes, but those are just details — and all is always forgiven once that hot, cheesy pie is ready. There’s just nothing else that will do once you get your heart set on digging into Italy’s most beloved export. Looking for the city’s premier pies? We’ve got your back. Here’s where to find the best pizza in Victoria, BC.
Pizzeria Prima Strada
Old country-style wood-fired pizza is the name of the game at this popular pizza stop near Beacon Hill Park. Crispy-crusted pies are hand-tossed, and quick-roasted in a super-hot oven. The result is a cracker-like foundation with a bubbly, blistery texture that perfectly offsets the always-fresh toppings. Specialty pizzas include the Margherita (with mozzarella and basil), and Panna e Pancetta (topped with leeks, ricotta, parmigiano and the eponymous thin-sliced pork belly).

The Joint
This harbourside hotspot has a little something for everyone on their extensive menu. Sure, you can get classic favourites like the #Meat, with ham, pepperoni, bacon and Italian sausage. Or the Mediterranean, with bell peppers, roasted garlic and sun-dried tomato. But why not try the BBQ sauce, chicken, and caramelized onion-topped Big D? Or even a Thai Peanut with peanut sauce, crispy noodles and green onion? Any pizza can be made with gluten-free crust, too.

Willows Pizza
Willows has built their legend by being the “freshest, friendliest pizza place in town,” and countless five-star reviewers agree. The menu here is one of the most prodigious in the area, including timeless tastes like Hawaiian, BBQ Chicken and Bacon Cheeseburger. But there are plenty of options for the adventurous, as well, such as Taco, Cordon Bleu, and even the whopping five-pound Ultimate Loaded — with a list of toppings so titanic it would take less time to tell you what ISN’T on it.

Famoso Pizza & Bar
If you’re craving a Neapolitan-style pizza, make sure to add Famoso to your must-visit list. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more authentic version of this most magnificent of pies outside of Italy. Ultra-fine ‘00’ flour makes for a crust that’s soft, yet crispy. Hand-milled Campania tomatoes simmer down to a sauce that’s equal parts sweet and tangy. Add in hand-torn basil, fior-di-latte mozzarella, farm-fresh vegetables and cured salumi, and you’ve got a pizza to remember.

Romeo’s
All five of Romeo’s pizza palaces have been Vancouver Island institutions for nearly 50 years — and for good reason. The family-friendly atmosphere, famously friendly service and massive menu always offer a satisfying experience. Signature pizzas like the Veggie Pesto, Greek, Maui Luau and Spinach Special are loaded with fresh flavors, and the list of build-your-own toppings is one of the deepest we’ve ever seen. Don’t forget to save room for a house-made Tiramisu or Ginger Caramel Spice cake for dessert!

My-Chosen Pizza
“Life’s Short, Eat Good Pizza!” is the motto of My-Chosen, a family-run pizzeria that’s been serving pizza lovers amazing pies since 2007. Originally served as a menu item at the adjacent My-Chosen Café, the pizzas here were so renowned by locals that an entirely separate location was opened just to meet the demand. Choose from any of their specialty pies, or build your own — starting with their trademark artisan crust, and topped with a blend of creamy mozzarella and edam cheeses. My-Chosen is a bit outside the city limits, but if you’re willing to take a scenic drive, the pizza is absolutely worth the trip.
