On Saturday, April 30, 2011, Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa extended this year's nationwide celebration of our planet by partnering with local businesses and organizations for our 2nd annual Earth Expo & Farmer's Market.
The event was fun and educational (and tasty!) for kids and adults alike, offering a glimpse into some of the creative ways Victoria is initiating eco-friendly practices.
The award, which was one of only four presented at the prestigious 2010 Hall of Fame Awards for Excellence in Toronto on March 7, 2011, recognizes Canadian lodging properties that have developed a culture towards integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations.
“Care for the environment has been a core value for Aviawest since the early 1990's, simply because it's the right thing to do,” said Parkside's developer, Avaiwest Resort Group CEO Jim Pearson. “It's satisfying to see those commitments recognized by industry peers and national organizations."
"With a heated tile floor, a shower, and a stand-alone soaker tub, this bathroom is pure bliss. Suites feature an electric fireplace, so once you pluck yourself out of the tub, you can relax with a glass of wine in the living room. A full kitchen means you never have to face the outside world until you check out; bringing your own food saves money too, " writes Carolyn Ali.
Shaw TV Lifestyles Specialist Karen Elgersma revisits Canada's greenest resort to explore the latest updates, which include a complimentary iPad Bar for guests and owners, as well scenes from the first ever film premiere hosted in Parkside's HD movie theatre.
Here's a sneak peak at our brand new Info Centre at Parkside!
The Parkside Info Centre is located on the ground floor across from AquaTerre Spa, and is set to open sometime this month.
Without giving away too much before it opens, you can look forward to finding out about the history of Victoria and the location of Parkside, as well as information about the building itself and Aviawest's other resort properties.
Oh, and did we mention we've got an iPad bar there too?
