Celebrate Victoria Day long weekend in BC's capital
What better way to celebrate the Victoria Day long weekend than by spending it in the province's capital?
There are lots of fun activities to choose from this weekend, starting with Uno Fest: Canada's Singular Live Theatre Event, which kicks off on Thursday, May 19, 2011.
The festival, now in it's 14th year, puts an emphasis on fun and accessible theatre and is Canada's only festival dedicated to solo live performances.
You know summer is just around the corner when the rodeo comes to town! The 36th Annual Luxton Pro Rodeo and carnival midway runs from Saturday, May 21, 2011 until Monday, May 23, 2011 in Langford, just a short 20-minute drive from downtown.
The 148th Annual Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival in Topaz Park is also happening this weekend! Enjoy Highland Dancing, Pipe and Drum Bands, the International Heavy Events Invitational, sheep dog trials, kilted mile, whiskey tasting, kids' events and haggis hurling and more.
And don't forget to head downtown with the family on Monday, May 23 at 9 am for the Island Farms Victoria Day Parade, Victoria's largest parade event, complete with marching bands, floats, clowns and more.
