AquaTerre Spa at Parkside has teamed up with the Times Colonist, along with several other local Victoria businesses, to encourage you to "Use Your Smartphone & Save" with the Foursquare social media application.
What is Foursquare?
Foursquare is a location-based social media application that uses your smart phone's GPS system to "check in" at geographic locations and businesses.
When you "checkin" to a location—like a coffee shop, for example—you can leave tips for other customers ("They make the best scones!") that will show up on a person's smart phone when they are in the area and using Foursquare.
Not only is Foursquare a great way to get local tips and recommendations, but also many businesses offer "specials" when a customer checks in.
For you first time checkin, for example, you may get 50% off your order—all you have to do is show the screen of your smart phone to the counter staff when the "specials" message pops up to get your discount.
The Special at AquaTerre Spa
For our first Foursquare special, simply "check-in" at AquaTerre Spa to receive a $50 Gift Certificate towards a spa treatment at AquaTerre Spa in Parkside!
The special is only available at AquaTerre Spa in Parkside and is limited to one Gift Certificate per person on your first check-in only at the Spa.
The Gift Certificate is not valid for retail purchases and can only be used at AquaTerre Spa in Parkside. (Please note: This special expires December 15, 2010. Foursquare specials can only be redeemed by unlocking the special on Foursquare on your smart phone.)
So how do I get my $50 Gift Certificate?
Just show the front desk at the Spa you've "checked-in" and "unlocked" the special with Foursquare on your phone. You must have "unlocked" the first time check in special to receive the Gift Certificate.
No purchase/treatment necessary, just come on in!
While you're there, ask about some of the relaxing and rejuvenating spa treatments you can use your Gift Certificate towards, such as a Therapeutic Massage, Land Meets the Sea Pedicure or the signature AquaTerre Blend!
