Parkside gets illuminated
Victoria's popular Luminara Festival is hitting the road this September and turning into an enchanting travelling light show around several communities near the downtown core.
From September 18 to 25, 2010, a constellation of lantern installations will illuminate the night around North Park, Fernwood, Fairfield and James Bay neighbourhoods.
Both local businesses and residential areas will be participating in this event.
On Saturday, local artist Jennifer Witvliet will be displaying her lantern installation in Parkside's outdoor pond at the corner of Humboldt and Blanshard Streets.
Drawing inspiration from the koi in our pond, Jennifer has created approximately 40 balloon lanterns with koi-like colours and patterns, ranging from golds and oranges to blacks and whites.
Create your own procession lantern, bring your family and friends and make sure you stop by Parkside on Saturday evening to see Jennifer's stunning display!
