Tips from our Living Planet Community group members

Tips from our Living Planet Community group members

For our July contest, we're asking our Living Planet Community what they do to help conserve our environment.

Check out what Parkside Living Planet Community group member salgal16 is doing to help conserve our planet:

"A new bed was delivered to our home, wrapped in those giant, thick 'covers' of plastic.

Instead of them ending up in the landfill... forever... they will 'forever' be my convertible green house every spring when it's tomato-planting time.

Take four wooden pallets and lean them up against the north side of your house after you have planted your tomatoes.

Drape the mattress packaging over the pallets and tuck it in on the top and bottom. No Nails, no ties!

Water plants everyday as usual. The plastic keeps the plants toasty and warm; just the way they like it.

Once you are sure the weather is going to be warm, remove the plastic and fold up for next year. It won't rot away for years and years and years!"

Fantastic use for plastic wrap that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill!
